West Ham Pull Plug on Contract Talks with Bilic
According to your super, soaraway Sun!

Seems a bit more than speculation to be fair. If true the board are concerned about the performances too.

https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/2447309/west-ham-pull-the-plug-on-contract-talks-with-slaven-bilic-as-fears-mount-he-could-be-axed-after-poor-first-half-of-season/

C&P
WEST Ham have shelved talks over a new deal for boss Slaven Bilic until the end of the season.

Hammers chiefs had planned to begin discussing fresh terms with their Croatian manager over the Christmas period.

But after a rocky start to the campaign, there is still fears Bilic will face the axe despite picking up seven points from their past three games.

West Ham’s owners have not been convinced with the team’s performances throughout the entire season, and plan to see if it can be turned around.

Bilic is happy at the London Stadium, but wanted to have a new contract agreed by the New Year, which will not be the case.

A Hammers insider said: “Talks over any new deal have been put off until the end of the season at the earliest, to see what happens.

“Slaven has regularly made it clear he is happy to hold on before negotiating, but he wanted something in place by the turn of the year.

“Despite picking up seven points from the last three games, such has been the level of performance, that nobody is ready to sit down and talk turkey.

"The display against Hull had important people shaking their heads in despair. They looked like a pub team at times.”

David Sullivan, pictured here with co-owner David Gold, said at the start of the season he would look to give a new contract to Bilic in January - but he appears to have changed his mind
Bilic didn't enjoy watching his side labour through the first half

West Ham co-owner David Sullivan had revealed at the start of the campaign that talks were likely to be held with Bilic around January.

He said: “I will give Slaven a new deal in January. I just want to see that he is not a one-season wonder. I am sure he is not but we’ll talk next January.”

The hope at West Ham is that the 48-year-old former Croatia and Besiktas boss can still turn things around, as he is well thought of by the club.

Tensions remain high inside West Ham, as the level of performance currently is far below what was achieved last season and expected.

The Hammers are 13th in the Premier League, just five points off the relegation places, with a tricky run of fixtures coming over the New Year period.

7 points in a week means they can go back to Plan A of cheap loans in the January window.

There is nothing to see here it's just The Sun jerking readers around as per usual. Nothing in the article is attributable and the journo is cunningly linking things to make it seem it's all a fact.

Best ignored.

I reckon the owners will leave the manager alone to concentrate on stabilising us and then pushing on.

I imagine Billic would not expect talks to start, just a few days after he cancelled the Xmas party for the players. It would not give a good message to the players!

What's all this....didn't like the way we laboured in the first half??/.....we were no fuc-ing better in the 2nd half, having removed our only decent player Obiang at the interval. WTF please shape up Slav and grow a pair quick !

Re: West Ham Pull Plug on Contract Talks with Bilic
I'm backing Slav. Yeah some strange selections at time but you can't manage your goalkeepers to cock up time and time again which has cost us maybe 6 points this season.

As for the transfers who could guess a Juve payer and Italian international could be so shit..

Croatia was a national team full of talent playing at big clubs. You aren't managing the players fitness, tactics and relationships on a day to day basis.
It wasn't like he had to buy and sell and build a team.

You can't compare national team jobs with domestic teams. His club record isn't sparkling.
I'm all for giving him a chance but you can't be blinded by what is happening and smile whilst he takes us down playing pub team football.

We have a lot of talent in that squad and he needs to find a way to harness it not just buy players with better fitness in Jan to bail us out.

Remind me what he won with Croatia?

Still he beat a McLaren side which is the yardstick of quality management.

You absolute clueless FIST.

Just find it laughable last season everyone on here was raving about him, how they want him here for years to come, not even half way through the 2nd season and people are already questioning him.

Fickle bunch, aint ya.

It's been an awful start.

Don't dress it up.

The signings made by Bilic have not been good enough, and he must live by those decisions.

I'm a Bilic fan, but this season has been diabolical so far.

Like how you avoided the fact that Bilic is actually a proven manager, you fucking helmet.

Bolt, the relatively unknown Turkish manager who took over from him at Besiktas won the league and qualified for the Champions League when he left.

They are performing better domestically since he went. He achieved 3rd place in a poor league which the manager prior to him also achieved.

How is that proof he is a good manager?

1 win off 9th, with the start we've had isn't bad going.

If anyone thought this season was going to be easy needs their heads checked.
